1st question- The ending is somewhat believable because you can tell that he really has a connection with his grandfather and the rest of the band. -Spencer
The end of the book is believable because they said he is old so he could be his grandfather. Also the last names are different so he couldn't be his father
bud, not buddy,is the best book ever and the book is definetly unbelievable and his grandfather is very sometimes rude but now for the first time in the book he cried
Book Reveiw: I liked this book a lot! The only thing I didn't like was the begining. It was really boring in the begining. It started to get interesting when he met Deza Maolne. So I would definetly want to read this book!
Bud ia a little kid who runs away from his foster family and is always doing something interesting. Bud has been through many things like his mother dying and being with so many foster familys.
Bud, Not Buddy is a comical book from the start! If you've read The Watsons Go to Birmingham 1963 then you'll love Cristopher Paul Curtis' take on the great depression! Bud caldwell is a distraught kid from the start. Worse of all he's parentless and gets assigned to evil (in my opinoin) foster parents. This is a book that will enchant you in awe at how Bud moves through extreme obsticles with ease! But be awre that this book isn't for everyone-mostly the people who love a good history/adventure book! -Spencer Babcock
I really liked this book. It is about a little boy who runs away from his foster family. He faces so many adventurs like his mother dying and bing with a lot of foster familys.
Question 1: I think the book had a somewhat believable ending mostly because of the sad part of it, but for the most part I felt it was a very happy ending. I really enjoyed the humor of this book as well as the seriousness of the backround. *Amy
This book is about an orphan boy,Bud, on the "lam" in search of who he believes to be his father, Herman E. Calloway. After Bud is sent away from the Home he lives with the horrible Amoses. Now he is sure he wants to find his 'Dad'. He overcomes obstacles and meets people such as, Lefty Lewis which make it tricky to get to Grand Rapids to reunite with Herman. When he does he also meets the Dusky Devastators of the Depression!!!!!!, Herman's band. At first they get of to a rough start but, in the end they find out a secret. I would rate this book 9 on a scale from 1 to 10.
Question #1: I think the end of the story is believeable because Herman E. Calloway is an old man so its believeable that he is Bud's grandfather.

I really wish the book had more chapters. I'm curious to know if Bud was going to join the band.
ReplyDelete*Amy
Does anybody else want to do this again!?
ReplyDeleteAmy
(P.S. I do!)
If we do another book club I think we should read another Christopher Paul Curtis classic!Like Elijah of Buxton.

(P.S. I read that there's going to be a book about Bud, not Buddy through Deza Malone's eyes!)
